My next chapter!!

So.... Guess what?!  I'M MARRIED!!!

I haven't had time to get on here much lately, with planning the little things before the wedding like who needs a corsage, what to put in the corsage, how many aisle decorations to put, blah blah blah... BUT the good news is my husband and I finally made it through the wedding and we are happy, healthy, and alive!  The bad news is I painted my own nails for the wedding (duh) and completely forgot to take a picture for you guys!!  How could I!!  Lucky for us both, I did something suuuppeerr simple =P  Orly Winter Wonderland over white... so I am going to use another bloggers picture!  This picture is from Sondilo's Nail Polishes, and they did OWW over a white creme base.  I did it over My Boyfriend Scales Walls... Which is practically the same thing.

I also put a small gold heart on my left ring finger so when he put my ring on he would see it, but it turned out to be a big blob that you couldn't really see anyways LOL jokes on me!

I know you are all aching for pictures of my dress and my handsome groom, but those will have to wait!  I do not really have any good ones (just fuzzy ones that people snapped on their phones) But as soon as I get my teasers from my professional photographer I will share them with you all =D

I can share a picture I took of our rings though ^.^

and on the inside of his wedding ring I surprised him and had our wedding date engraved =)

That is all for now.... ^.^  ahhhhh newlyweds... so much happiness!

Have a day full of beauty and love!
(I know, I know *barrffffff* =P)

Something Sweet and Uneven....

I have so many manis to show you guys, I don't know where to begin!!  It hurts to type still, so I will just show you the simple one today =)  I did two more Breast Cancer Awareness manis, but I wasnt satisfied with either, so I'm not putting them up lol.  The ideas behind them were pretty simple though. One was a pink and holo gradient with a ribbon on each ring finger and the other was a jelly sanwich with pink glitter and essie marshmallow on some fingers, the white polish with a big ribbon on some nails, and a jelly sandwich but instead of glitter, putting little ribbons on the nail.  But that one came out terrible.... so on with my simplest and latest.  This one is pink... so I guess it counts... there is no ribbon or anything but oh well!

You will notice that the nails on my right hand are significantly longer than the ones on my right hand.... I cant file them yet because the vibrations hurt and I cant quite get the angle to do it lol so they are loonnggg and I havent been able to do much with my right hand so breakage wasn't an issue... man do they look prettttyyyyyy.  My left hand is jealous!

This is CG Something Sweet.  I. Love. It.   On the pinkie there is also a layer of OPI's Pirouette my Whistle.

Right hand

Left hand, sorry the colors are all phooey

I love this color so much, it is like big girl baby pink.

On a different note, I am a Seche Vite convert...  I was terrified to try it, but it is absolutely amazing!  It dries so fast and I dont have a problem with shrinkage, all I did was make sure to wrap the tip and that got rid of the problem =)  and its soooo shiny ^.^

Anyhow, back to healing and being super busy with wedding stuff.  ONLY three more weeks!!!

and a cute picture =)

My puppy, Lily, was nuzzling me when I was taking pictures of these nails =) lol it was so cute!! and she matches my pants =P

Breast Cancer Awareness Month Kickoff

So, its October!!! Which means we will be seeing lots of fall mani's and Halloween mani's, but make sure you break out those pink polishes we all know you have and squeeze in a Breast Cancer Awareness design or two  =)

I just had surgery on my hand (yesterday lol), but I couldn't wait to do some of those pink ribbon designs that are rolling around in my head!  This is the first one I did =) Obviously I can only paint one hand, and that- lucky me- is my dominant one... SO my lovelies, please stay with me, as not only is the design done left handed, but the photos are awkward because I cant move my wrist and I took the pics left handed.... it was quite the adventure =P  So.... yeah sorry about the whole ugly bandage thing, but I just couldn't go without you guys (or painting my nails) =P

A close up of my nail art glitter BC Ribbon-- I actually thought it would show up more pink. Good news though, IRL it is more pink than this (I just wish it were more pink lol).
Two water marble nails, and the colors I used were Rimmel London's Posh Pink, Essie's Raise Awareness, and OPI's My Boyfriend Scales Walls.  I did put some glitter pieces in the two marble nails but you can't quite get the effect from a photo, it pops WAY more in real life.

and this is my boo boo =( so big and easy to bump!!
I'm so excited to do the next one!!!  Which idea do I use???  Stay tuned and you will find out!!

Pink Power!!!

Baby steps....

So I tried to do a sponge gradient for the first time ever.... haha. Well... Let me just show you.

left hand

left hand again
I don't hate them... but I can definitely say I don't love them, and I need practice on the sponging ombre front.  I did go back and add a little gem to the ring finger on the outer corner, and I liked that a little more... but... still. In case anybody cares, the colors I used is Clinique Cool Taupe, and China Glaze White on White.

I used an eyeshadow applicator thing to do the ombre instead of a sponge or anything because I didn't have any sponges... I actually liked the eyeshadow applicator, but I will have to do some trial and error before I settle on which I like best.   Shown below is kind of what I used:

Any tips on how to make the gradient more gradual, or how to make it all around... just better???  Help!

Nom Nom NOME!!

MMMYYYY First franken!!!  LOOKEY!  It came in the mail and the package had cute little fishy stickers, I loved it!!!!  It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!!  So... I sharesies!   Here, my friends, is Nome King II, by the talented (and cleverly named) A Rhyming Dictionary.  I purchased this polish here for $7.50 plus shipping and handling.
Fishy, fishy, fishy!  And my description card =)

It was really, really hard to catch the glitter in the bottle, I had to utilize the lip and kinda scrape it off of the side of the lip on the top, but I managed.  It is definitely a bisnatch to apply, but a gem to behold.  I think that it is worth the ache in the end.  As with most "jelly sandwich without the work/layers" nailpolishes, this polish has some chunk to it that has to be evened out with a good topcoat.

As you can see there IS lots of glitter in it, I just couldn't seem to fish any of it out...
Add flash to show how squishy it looks, fah reals. I could just eat it up!

I'm super excited to have gotten my one of many nail polishes I have ordered online recently, in the mail!!  Coming soon I have another franken with a white base that I'm stoked to show you guys, My Boyfriend Scales Walls by OPI, Marsmallow by Essie, and Rejeuvocate for my peelies and weak nails.  I have heard Rejeuvocate is good, I hope it works for me!

I also have gotten into makeup recently, and I did some the other day that I LOVED!!  I had a super hard time getting a good picture of it, so pardon the poor quality, but here is a pic of the colors I used, and the pattern of my shirt that I was matching to.

I really wish I could show you with my eye open!  I had a FIERCE cat eye wing!  Maybe next time! LOL!

Have a NOM NOME licious day!!

Fancy Fingers

I haven't been able to wear makeup for a while, so I decided to dress my fingers up!  My inspiration for these came from a super cute post on.... dun dun dunnnnn PINTEREST (go figure lol)  Where there was a black line across and a gem in the middle.  Well I don't have gems, and I decided all black was lamesauce, so I jazzed it up a little and Niki-fied it!  Here is what I got!

Left hand

Right hand ( hehe got some long skinny bows here)

And a feature of my favorite bow.... In an effort not to offend anyone, I will avoid tell you what finger this is... ;)
This is a gelish mani, and I have to say never in my life have I had a harder time avoiding fuzz.... If you look super close at the pictures, you will be able to see fuzz in almost every nail!  OY! But it is ok, I love them anyways =)  I think I would have liked this even if it were all black and white, but I like the pop of color.... It adds some flavor.  I was tempted to stop at a plain french manicure because it has been so long since I have had one, but I decided to go ahead and finish what I had started, and I'm glad I did!  I am also glad I went with the neon yellow instead of the Pink I was going to go with, the yellow is much more forgiving in real life (not so much in picutres, sorry).

What do you think??

Now for some things... in bowties... or just bowties... ready... GO!

Bowtie Necklace:

How to tie a bowtie:

AAAANNNNNNNNNNDDDDDD last but not least.........

Bow tie as a hair fashion statement:
Please do let me know if I missed one.  I wanted to add a dog wearing a bow tie but I figured it would be redundant.... =/

Have a fancy day ;)

Seeing Spots

So it's Flu season and guess who didn't get their shot..... this little lady.  I had that stupid thing like three times in a row.  I have started a beautiful regimen of chugging vitamin C... that ought to kick it  ^.^  So needless to say I have been a little... ahem... preoccupied with other things, so no new nails recently, but I have some pretty cute old ones to show you!!  I was so excited to show them to you guys before but I didn't get a chance to lol but here they are!

left hand-- note the bow =)

Women V. Men

I completely wish I could take credit for this, alas, I cannot.  I ran across this (once again) on my daily peruse on pinterest, and quite nearly laughed aloud and I decided my lovely ladies that share my love for painting nails and all that goes along with that endeavor needed to see it as well.

Ladies, and the inevitable gentleman or two that will be shown this.... be revealed the truth.

Now you can't say THAT hasn't happened at least once in your life!  LOL

You may be on with your day now, I just though I would share... and in case you were curious, no I didn't have any nails to show you today.  Well I do, but I am in a hurry, and I have yet to edit/ watermark them... so technically I don't.  ^.^

Have a magnificent day!

Neon Nautical Nails

I could go on and on about how I'm busy, but I wont bore you... so let us jump right in!  Today I have for you a Summery Neon Nautical themed nail design.  It has a blocky, abstract feel to it, but the colors are to die for!  A note, these are not my fingers, only my haniwork!  Welcome our hand model, Alexa :)

Marble Mayhem

As I move through my hectic life, I still find time to water marble my nails.... I recently bought a bunch of chhhheaaappppp really great nail polishes from Sally's from their sale!  I got 8 polishes, and I was super eager to try my new green!!!  Orly's (Ancient Jade I think....?)  if that is not it, it is surely veryyyyy close to it.  It has a super creamy base to it and is beautiful!  I painted my toesies with it, but no need to go on about that lol  I watermarbled with that green, a white from china glaze, and Heaven by China Glaze.  Heaven did not show up very well on a lot of fingers, in hindsight I should have picked a darker nude peachy color.  Next time....

This is what I got =)

They are still messy.... cleanup after water marbling is.... well it is a riot.  As you can see I added dots in selective spots.  Water marbling is so much more interesting with dotted lines =)

Don't forget to let me know what you think!

I'm Baaaacccckkkkkk!

Ok, so I've been gone for a hot second... or two.  but I'm back and I have something pretty cool!  So I was browsing around the other day and came across a new-ish design method that involves saran wrap!  I don't know if any of you have seen it, but I hadn't, so I thought I would give it a go!  I used a silver from Ice, and a super dark blue from Ulta (I can't remember the name right off hand, but If anybody realllllyyyy wants the name I will be sure to put it up lol, just let me know).  This is what I came up with!

Left hand, natural light

Right hand, Natural light-- My camera started fogging up because my basement is supppeer  cold and that is where my camera was, and it's muggy outside LOL  sorry!

02 May, 2012

Well....

I got gel full sets today.  Do not ever ask a nail salon to do a glitter gradient.  Ever.  I walked them through how to do it... twice, and my nails still look like complete BLUE AND GOLD crap.  The had to remove the nail polish both times and try again, the third time I told them to just leave it because I had other things I had to accomplish today. Im horrified.  I left nearly in tears.... In any case, lesson of the post, NEVER ask a nail salon to accomplish the simple task of a glitter gradient.  Pictures to come.

Insert angry face here.   Oh wait...   >:( there it is.

To Holo, or Not to Holo....

That is the question!!!

I spent like... an hour deciding whether or not I wanted holo on my nails. which is dumb because of course I wanted holo on my nails!!!   I LOVE HOLOS!!!  So for finals week, I decided a holo was necessary.  I, therefore did a reddish orange ( Zoya Lana) and then did a.... *ahem* rather uneven and spotty layer of O.P.I DS Sapphire (my baby <3) on top of that for the holo effect!  And. I. Love. It.

An Ap-peel-ing Guest! Aren't you Gelish!

Ok... so I fell off the face of the planet.  Sorry about that!  And I will probably be super busy for the next couple of weeks!!  My fiance and I will be moving across the country, so until mid June I may not be posting much lol But for now, lets just enjoy each others company!!  Todays post is a guest appearance from Brittani again!  I did another Gelish mani for her, and I LOVE the way it turned out!!

Fantasy for my Fingers Too!

Ok, I'm supposed to be doing homework, but a blog (though distracting) is the perfect procrastination tool!  Anyhow, forward we march! This polish, although entitled Flip Flop Fantasy, is beautiful on fingers as well, though I must admit that it is one of my least favorite to apply...  In any case, the color that comes from the application is well worth the hassle.  To add some spice to my neon fingertips, I added a Nubar fleck on top.  You could only see the fleck when I was inside, otherwise the polish was just too bright to be able to see the iridescent beauty that lined the tops of my polished digits, however, addition of the flecks was something else... I loved it while I was inside, and desperately missed it when I was outside!!

In this one I was trying to show the brightness more than the fleck.  Much to my chagrin, the brightness cannot effectively be captured on camera =/

This is a more accurate portrayal, but still not even close to the neon magnificence.

This one was intended to show the fleck... you cant REALLY see it... but it is there... swearsies!  Click on it to make it bigger so you can see them better =)

and a question... Does ANYONE know where I can get one of these???  I may be in love!
Nom nom nom  Pac man wins again!

anyways....
I dont have much else for you guys today, and I really should be off to do my homework anyhow... so... I suppose Ta-Ta for now!

Have a beautiful day!!
